About Jonathan Ellis, Yoga Student/Educator, E-RYT 500
I believe the principles and practice of Yoga are relevant to myriad of settings. As a result of this belief, I have advocated and successfully integrated Yoga into the areas of art education, corporate wellness programs, and primary medical care.
Prior to teaching Yoga full time, I studied exercise science and spent 15+ years developing mindfulness based wellness programs for global companies such as NIKE & Blue Cross Blue Shield Health Insurance. As an anatomy geek, I followed my initial 200 hour yoga certification with 300+ hours anatomy and physiology rich instruction with my primary teacher, Jason Crandell. Continuing my efforts to bridge the gap between Yoga and medicine, I completed the Integrative Yoga for Seniors Masters program offered at Duke University Integrative Medicine.
Public classes: I strive to cultivate an environment where, regardless of age or ability, each student is able to envision and nurture their own practice. Private Yoga Instruction: Address specific muscular disorders, pain management and overall health and well-being.
